A NOTE ABOUT VENDOR LINKS:
The list below includes the vendors I consulted when beginning
my project. Generally, you will find that those who grow irises commercially
are passionate about the plant, and they are willing to share their knowledge
and enthusiasm with you freely… as long as it's not digging time!!! However, be cautioned that the size of the
rhizomes sent by these vendors can vary greatly. Selecting your vendor is a
personal process, and depends on what you are seeking with your new rhizomes.
Is first-year bloom most important to you? Is a particular variety what you
seek? Is cost the primary consideration? There really is no "right"
or "wrong" answer here, but a little communication with the vendor
regarding their rhizomes before placing your order can be very helpful in
avoiding future disappointment.
